Seehaus in the Englischer Garten

Take a break at the lake

Enjoy dining in restaurants? Or maybe you prefer a beer garden? You can enjoy both at Seehaus in the Englischer Garten.

Seehaus is located on the banks of Kleinhesseloher See, a lake in the heart of the Englischer Garten. This romantic spot is a truly special place in Munich – especially if you manage to secure a seat in the sunshine out on the terrace.

The restaurant caters to every taste: Mediterranean fish dishes and regional specialities, like Krustenschweinebraten (roast pork with crackling), calves’ liver and duck, are firm favourites on the menu.

The neighbouring beer garden – hugely popular with locals due to its Mediterranean flair – takes a slightly more rustic approach. The garden is open all year round and is the ideal spot to enjoy a Mass (litre) of beer and a traditional Bavarian Brotzeit (a relaxed meal of bread, meat and cheese) in style. As is traditional in most Munich beer gardens, Seehaus beer garden also allows you to bring your own food with you.

This venue attracts a varied crowd – students from the nearby university, families with children or joggers out for a run after work: it’s hard not to enjoy the atmosphere at the lakeside

If you find yourself watching the rowing boats and pedalos out on Kleinhesseloher See and fancy having a go yourself, then Seehaus is the perfect place to be: There is a jetty right next door where you can hire rowing boats and pedalos.
